Fun Ways to Workout

Working out is one of the most important committed relationships you will ever be in. It takes work, determination, and consistency. Whether you do it to eat whatever you want without feeling guilty, for health reasons, to fit back into your favorite pair of jeans, or to make use out of all your Lululemon clothes. Whatever the reason, it’s good for you, but it can be very difficult for some people. I get it, I mean why would you want to leave the comfort of your bed and Netflix account for the cold unwelcoming stair-master? That’s exactly how I felt every time I forced myself into my Nikes and headed for the gym. So there I was on the stair-master climbing to nowhere, sweating out of every pore in my body then I realized it doesn’t have to be this gruesome and boring. There are so many ways to get active and have fun! You just need to get out there and try everything. Some things you’ll hate and others won’t be so bad, then there will be that one class or activity that completely changes your outlook on physical activity. Working out will then become a lifestyle not a chore.

What helped me find my favorite workout activities was I didn’t think, I just did. If I heard of a new way to get active that I haven’t tried yet, I’d get out there and do it. You’ll never know if you hate it unless you try. There are so many activities that haven’t even become a trend yet! You could be the next trend setter for all your friends.

1.Hot Yoga

Emily and I didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into when we went in for our first hot yoga session. The first few positions seemed fairly easy, sure it was a tad warm, but we didn’t think we’d get that much of a sweat in just by touching our toes or stretching back into child’s pose. Boy were we wrong. Those were the longest 80 minutes of our lives. Sweating from every pore in our bodies, we truly underestimated the power of yoga.

2.Rock Climbing

The best workouts are in obstacles, rock climbing really works every part of your body. Reaching for the top is a good way to motivate you to reach your goal in your workout. With rock climbing it gives you a tangible end point, so you can push yourself to the finish line. Also, for those who aren’t afraid of heights, coming back down gives you just enough of an adrenaline rush to make you want to climb back up the second your feet touch the ground.

3.Cycling

Though it may seem a little boring to bike in place, your workout is what you make it. Try out a few cycling classes at your local gym and break a sweat with a fun group of people! Cycling classes bring on the sweat and the good vibes. Everyone is pumped to get to the invisible finish line with the music blaring and the instructor encouraging you to go past your limits.
